Online Shopping in Ireland has one major draw back. Often the best sites for bargains do not deliver to Ireland. However, last year I came across a website called Shopthestate.com in a pc magazine review which seems to be the perfect answer to this problem. This website was set up to allow people who aren't residents of the USA to purchase goods from websites that sell only to US residents. They provide you with an address in the States and undertake to forward any purchases you make at economical postal rates. You can also allow your goods to accumulate at their address, to be dispatched later at your behest in one package, thereby saving on postal fees.

Another famous site that sells exclusively to US residents is www.woot.com . This addictive deal-of-the-day site posts one item per day—typically overstocks ranging from electronics to toys, but "cool stuff" seems to be the running theme—at midnight Central time. If you want it, buy it fast, as that item is available for only 24 hours, or until it sells out (which happens often).
