New Online Shopping Directory for Ireland

Pic courtesy: Mike Korn
Been busy the past few weeks, creating a directory of online shopping links for Ireland. If you look at the Grazr widget in my links panel, you will see it. I think this is a great resource for anyone who is interested in buying stuff online. International shopping sites are also included as I think that we are increasingly looking for good deals and products abroad as well as at home.
I've been wanting to do this for quite a while now, but have been spurred on by this post from Claire Wilson. Claire wonders why Irish people don't exploit the economics of shopping on the internet more.
Part of the reason may be that there is no real Guide available to people. The Irish Website Directories that exist are pretty unsatisfactory to my eyes. If you look at the shopping sections, it usually contains a hodge podge of good and bad sites and invariably no links to international sites. IMHO the modern shopper is looking for the best product at the best price, which often means buying from abroad (amazon, Pixmania etc).
With the SSIA rolling out over the next 2 years, we are inevitably going to be hit with higher domestic prices (its already happening with cars and property). One way to fight this kind of exploitation is to leverage the economics of online shopping.
Need to buy a new car? Why not buy from the UK? Need to buy a buggy for your child, why not buy from Kiddicareand save yourself some money? Of course there are some good online shopping sites in Ireland also. Main thing is that you have the choice.
If anybody has any suggestions as to the sites I should be including in the directory please let me know. I am particularly interested in sites the sell alternative energy, organic produce, men's and women's fashion and garden furniture/decking.
I am going to try and see if I can find more European websites like Pixmania as most of the international sites I have chosen are based in the UK and US.

Great info, found lots of sites that I didn't know about before.

My wife and me have a website for Irish classifieds called DoneDeal.ie, it would be great if you would add us to your classifieds section.

The site is targetted at new Internet users; it is very easy to use. The benchmark is that my mother-in-law must be able to use it :-)

Thanks,
Fred

Hi Fred,
Thanks for that. I certainly will add your site, which I think is great by the way. I´m surprised I haven´t seen it before. I´m on holidays at the moment, so it will be a few days before I can add it.
cheers

Paul

PS it would be great if you could give me a few hints on marketing classified websites as I have 2 of my own:)
